Investigation On The Competency Status Of Emergency Physicians In County-level General Hospitals In Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

Purposes:Taking the emergency doctors of county-level general hospitals as an example,on the basis of the pre-developed emergency physician competency assessment scale and online evaluation system,online assessment of competency was conducted for emergency doctors in 31 county-level general hospitals in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei.To analyze the overall competency level of emergency doctors in county-level general hospitals,and analyze the current status of emergency doctors' competence under different conditions,age,gender,professional title,education,working years,etc.,and And whether these factors have an impact on the competence of emergency physicians.Moreover,based on the results of data analysis,it proposes targeted countermeasures to promote the long-term development of emergency doctors in county-level general hospitals,thereby further improving the level of emergency medical services in county-level general hospitals.Methods:The online questionnaire survey method was used to investigate the competency of 289 emergency doctors in 31 county-level general hospitals in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei using the"Emergency Physician Competency Assessment System".Statistical analysis is used to describe demographic variables and overall scores of competency.The one-way ANOVA,Kruskal-Wallis H test and other statistical test methods were used to compare the competency level of emergency doctors in county-level general hospitals with different regions,gender,age,professional title,education,degree,and duration of emergency.Use literature research to understand the impact of gender,age and other factors on the competence of emergency doctors.Results:This study conducted an online assessment of the competency of emergency doctors in county-level general hospitals in Beijing,Tianjin,Hebei region to understand the current situation of the competence of emergency doctors in county-level hospitals in Beijing,Tianjin,Hebei region.A total of 318 questionnaires were collected,of which 289 were valid questionnaires.Through the department setting and staffing information,it can be seen that the emergency department is not well set up and the talent team is in short supply.(1)According to the evaluation data,the average score of the emergency doctors in the county-level general hospitals in the Beijing,Tianjin,Hebei region is 93.40(out of 180).The emergency first aid service scored an average of5.7 points(out of 9 points),the emergency operation skills average score of 3.4 points,the emergency first aid and related knowledge average score of 3.1 points,the communication ability average score of 5.5 points,the management coordination ability average score of 4.5 points,the internal literacy average scored 5.9 points.(2)Different genders(P<0.05),age(P<0.0001),professional title(P<0.0001),and years of emergency(P<0.0001)all had an impact on the level of competency of emergency doctors in county-level general hospitals.(3)Among the six dimensions,"emergency operation skills" and "emergency first aid and related knowledge"scores were lower(P<0.0001).(4)Among the 20 indicators,"Mastering the knowledge of first-aid drugs and being proficient in application","Clinical evidence-based research and scientific research","Ensuring effective communication within and outside the hospital",and "All kinds of resource planning and coordination"scores are low.Among them,G"clinical evidence-based research and scientific research"scored the lowest(P<0.05).Conclusions:According to the current situation of the emergency doctors'competence in the county-level general hospitals in the Beijing,Tianjin,Hebei region,there is a shortage of emergency doctors at county-level hospitals.In terms of influencing factors,male emergency doctors are more competent than females;the older the age,the higher the professional title,and the longer the emergency department,the higher the level of competence of emergency doctors.Moreover,the competency of the emergency doctors in the three places is in the range of level 2 to level 3,which basically matches the competency of emergency medical posts in county hospitals,but there is still much room for improvement,especially in emergency operation skills and Emergency first aid and related knowledge.County-level general hospitals in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei can further improve the level of emergency medical services in county-level general hospitals by improving the supporting construction of emergency departments,strengthening the construction of emergency physician talent team,improving the emergency physician competency evaluation system,developing the emergency physician training curriculum system and other measures.
