OBJECTIVE: To observe the feasibility, safety and efficacy of Nimodipine Tabl ets as an adjuvant drug in the treatment of bipolar disorder manic episodes,an d to explore the application of calcium channel blockers(CCB)in the treatment of bipolar disorder, and to provide new treatment ideas for bipolar disorder in the future.METHODS: Thirty inpatients who were diagnosed by DSM-V type I bipolar disorder manic episode and other enrollment conditions of a Hunan Grade III A hospital, were elected as experimental group to be treated by conventional tr eatment with Nimodipine Tablets(lithium carbonate sustained release tablets,Qu etiapine fumarate)as an adjuvant therapy for 14 days, while the other 30 inpat ients with conventional treatment were elected as control group from the persp ective of age, gender, and condition assessment.Comparing the base figure, and the condition of day 3?1 week?and 2 weeks of two groups, respectively usi ng paired t test Statistical methods such as analysisof variance and chisquare a nalysis to assess differences in the two treatments.RESULT: 1.There was no statistically significant difference between the two gr oups in the preintervention YMRS and CGIS(p>0.05).YMRS and CGI-S had interactive effect as the score before and after intervention was different during the different period and there was statistical significance(p<0.05),which show ed a significant statistical difference in the extent of decline. From the observati on node analysis, there was no statistically significant difference in the scores between the two groups except for the observation point on the third day of tr eatment. There was significant statistical difference between 1 week and 2 week s after treatment(end of experiment). The total scores of YMRS and CGIS in t he experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group at the end of the experiment, which was statistically significant.2.There was n o significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the twogroups.CONCLUSION: Using nimodipine in the treatment of manic episodes of bipol ar disorder had a certain effect.
