Objective:To observe the efficacy of prescription about benefiting qi,removing toxic substance and activating collaterals in patients with hepatic cirrhosis and portal hypertensive gastropathy(PHG).Methods:We used a single-group self-control method. All the subjects were treated in the hepatitis clinic of Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.Twenty-nine patients were treated with the therapy for 6 months. We compared the changes of TCM symptom scores,Tanoue grading level, liver function and liver ultrasound scores.Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS 20.0.Results:1)30 patients were enrolled in the study,1 case of which was shedding. The average age was 50.83±7.65.There were 20 cases of post-hepatitis cirrhosis,6 cases of alcoholic cirrhosis,2cases of autoimmune liver disease and 1 case of cryptogenic cirrhosis.2)The composition of Tanoue grading level was not statistically different(P>0.05)in both compensatory and decompensatory patients after the treatment.3)There was a statistically significant difference in the total score of TCM syndrome before and after treatment in both compensatory and decompensatory patients(P<0.05),which indicated that the symptoms of TCM were improved after treatment.4)Before treatment, both groups were characterized by fatigue and yellow urine. In the compensation group, only the fatigue symptoms improved(P<0.05).In the decompensation group, symptoms like abdominal distension, fatigue, stomachache, yellow urine, black stool were improved after treatment(P<0.05),in which fatigue and stomachache improved more significantly(P<0.01).5)In the decompensation group,GGT,TBiL and ALB were improved(P<0.05),and GGT decreased significantly(P<0.01)after 6-month-treatment.There was no difference in ALT and AST before and after treatment(P>0.05).The liver function of patients with decompensation were improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the improvement of AST,GGT,TBiL and ALB was more significant(P<0.01).6)In terms of coagulation function,PTA was better in the compensated patients(P<0.05).PT and PTA were not improved before and after treatment,(P>0.05).The PT was improved in the patients with decompensation at 3 months(P<0.05).The improvement of PTA was more obvious before and after treatment(P<0.05),while the PT did not improve(P>0.05).7)After the treatment, there was no significant difference in liver ultrasound integral(P>0.05),which indicates that there was no significant improvement in the ultrasound morphology of liver.8)After the treatment, the degree of esophageal varicose veins was not better than before in compensatory stage patients(P>0.05).9)There were 4 patients who participated in the follow-up period, which ranged from 1-3 months, and none of them showed manifestations of gastrointestinal hemorrhage.10)According to the efficacy evaluation criteria, the total effective rate of the treatment was 79.3%.Conclusion:1)This prescription can not improve the degree of gastric mucosal lesions and liver morphology in a short period of time, but it can improve the degree of esophageal varices in some patients.2)The patient's symptoms and TCM symptom scores can be improved after the treatment.3)The prescription can significantly improve the liver function and coagulation function of patients with compensated and decompensated stage.
