A Retrospective Clinical Study On Qingjin Huatan Decoction In The Treatment Of AECOPD With Phlegm-heat Obstructing Lung Syndrome

Purpose: A retrospective analysis of the clinical effect and application value of Qingjin Huatan Decoction prescription in the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with phlegm and heat stasis.Method: AECOPD patients admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,from May 2017 to December 2018 will be collected.Cases are screened according to inclusion and discharge criteria,and then qualified case information is entered into an Excel spreadsheet to form a database.According to the medication situation,the patients were divided into the exposure group(Qingjin Huayu Decoction combined with conventional Western medicine treatment group)and the non-exposure group(conventional Western medicine treatment group).The difference between the two groups was observed in hospitalization days,medical expenses,white blood cell count,neutrophils Percentage of cells,and C-reactionprotein,TCM syndrome scores and efficacy.The purpose is to clarify the clinical efficacy and application value of Qingjin Huayu Decoction.Results:1.A total of 128 patients were included in the study,86 in the exposed group and 42 in the non-exposed group.There were no significant differences in age,gender,length of disease,airflow limitation,and smoking status between the two groups(P>0.05).2.Patients treated with Qingjin Huayu Decoction,the number of cough,color of phlegm,wheeze,thirst and constipation symptoms and TCM syndrome scores have been significantly improved,and the difference is statistically significant(P <0.05).3.The clinical control rate and effective rate of Qingjin Huayu Decoction in patients with treatment were better than those in conventional Western medicine,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Regarding the reduction of WBC count,N% and CRP,patients treated with Qingjin Huayu Decoction were superior to conventional Western medicine treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.The average length of hospital stay in Qingjin Huayu Decoction was 2 days shorter than that of Western medicine(P<0.05).6.The average cost of treatment for Qingjin Huayu Decoction was about 300 yuan lower than that of Western medicine,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Qingjin Huayu Decoction can effectively inhibit the inflammatory reaction in acute exacerbation,reduce the white blood cell count,the percentage of neutrophils and CRP.2.Qingjin Huayu Decoction can improve the improvement rate and clinical curative effect of TCM syndromes,and effectively relieve the symptoms of cough and the color of phlegm,wheeze,dryness and thirst.3.Without increasing the cost of medical treatment,Qingjin Huayu Decoction can shorten the hospitalization days of patients with AECOPD,heat and phlegm syndrome,and save medical resources.
