Purpose:The effects of acupotomy combined with traditional Chinese medicine tensioning on knee joint pain, stiffness and movement in patients with knee osteoarthritis were studied in a randomized manner to provide reference for the clinical treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Material and method:A total of 80 patients(80 knees)with knee osteoarthritis who were admitted to the first department of bone injury, second affiliated hospital of liaoning university of traditional Chinese medicine between September 2017 and December 2019 were selected as subjects for the study. These included 19 males and 61 females;Aged 41 to 86,the average age was 64.98 years; The course of disease ranged from 1 to 36 years, with an average course of 15.91 years. The 80 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into the conventional treatment group(control group)and the acupotomy treatment group(experimental group).According to their conditions, patients in both groups were treated with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)tengoning and ironing of the affected knee joint once a day for 30 min each time for a course of 2 weeks.Acupotomy treatment group(experimental group)received acupotomy loosening of local tissues around the knee joint once every other week, twice a week for one course of treatment,a total of one course of treatment.General data including gender, age and disease course of patients in the two groups as well as data of knee WOMAC and VAS scores of patients in the two groups before and 2weeks after treatment were collected.Statistical software SPSS25.0 was used to analyze and compare the data after the end of the study.Results:1.Before treatment, statistical analysis showed that there was no significant statistical difference between the two groups in general data of gender, age, disease course and VAS and WOMAC score scales of the knee joint(p > 0.05),indicating comparability.2.After 2 weeks of treatment,VAS scores of patients in the experimental group and the control group improved(p < 0.01),but the improvement in the experimental group was more significant and statistically significant(p < 0.01).3.After 2 weeks of treatment, the pain score, stiffness score, activity score and total score ofWOMAC score of patients in the experimental group and control group all improved(p <0.01),and the experimental group had obvious advantages, with statistical significance(p <0.05).4.After 2 weeks of treatment, the overall effective rate of the experimental group was95.00%,and that of the control group 62.50%.The overall effective rate of the experimental group was better than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P <0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupotomy combined with traditional Chinese medicine tensioning is an effective way to treat knee osteoarthritis and relieve the pain symptoms of patients.2.Acupotomy combined with traditional Chinese medicine tensioning therapy can reduce the joint stiffness of patients with knee osteoarthritis, increase the degree of motion, and improve the quality of life of patients.3.Acupotomy combined with Chinese herbal tensioning for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis is a safe and no obvious adverse reactions of Chinese medicine external treatment method, and the operation is simple, suitable for clinical application.
