Investigation Report On Rock Paintings In The Northwest And Southeast Of Fangcheng

FangCheng rock arts were discovered in 2010,then such rock arts have been found in many villages and towns of FangCheng.It has a great similarity with Juci Mountain rock arts which were discovered in twenty-first century,and its scale,quality and distribution is inferior to Juci Mountain rock arts.It will not only greatly enrich the connotation of Juci Mountain rock arts,provide a number of new data for the interpretation of the rock arts in Central Plains,but also find a new way to study the development of Chinese cupules for scholars.Since the FangCheng rock arts were reported,many experts and scholars came here to explore,trying to make related explanations and researches about the data,culture connotation of Juci Mountain rock arts from aspects of archeology,anthropology,etc.But because of the extraction of basic data is not complete,it has not formed the system theroy.In April 2012,Professor Zhang Yasha of Chinese rock art research center of Minzu University of China had a comprehensive survey of FangCheng rock arts,and make detailed records with her students.Wo examined this site and detailedly filed all our findings,including 92 rocks with over 114 rock arts carved on them.This report,based on these recods and files,consist of four chapters,not including the conclusion.The first chapter introduces the backfounds of Rock Arts research,the current situation of FangCheng rock arts,the significance of this research.The second chapter,introduces the natural geographical and cultural environments,and wo have a basic understanding about the survey area.The third chapter,the main body of the report,introduces all the findings about rock arts at FangCheng site.Firstly,author presents the method and rocess of the survey work;Secondly,wo have a detail introduction on rock art sites's geographical coordinates,the surrounding environment,screen composition,size and shape,rock condition;Lastly,wo have a data analysis on these records by table and map.The last chapter is to discuss these datas from its distribution,theme,characteristics,age and function.The research on FangCheng rock arts,on one side,is to introduce these new findings in a brand-new way.On the other side,offer the existing view on its age or function,etc.in order to provide detailed materials for the latter research.
