In this paper,a novel perspective on female image change of Chinese films has been expressed.The first chapter and the second chapter analyzes the longitudinal changes of female images in Chinese films since 1990s,and highlights why the watershed as a feminist film came out,but also pointed out the four stages of the female role in the movie which refers to.The change of the female image and the time of the film are inseparable,to the cultural background of the system and the difference between the gender of the creator,show a different symbolic meaning.After 1990,the creation of female directors grew up from the vigorous growth of the soil,and showed a relatively mature and full development trend in the new century,to analyzes their works as the research object,especially in the surface of prosperity,economic modernization and globalization,the essence of oppression of the female group.Then in order to study the two types of female images from "chick films" and "youth films",I analyzed the motivations behind the optimistic interpretation,though influenced by consumer culture.These new types of female theme movies is not all in the feminism film category of the awakening of female consciousness do not have a positive effect,but the whole is fundamental.
