This paper is an overall presentation in which the composer shows her comprehension in Buddhist art.Bringing my own attainment in Buddha dharma,I hope to allow the works to have conversation with the composer through forms of art. Moreover,I wish to deepen the faith in Buddha dharma throughout the process of creating. At the same time,in the dialogue between the works and the audience,I expect to convey the beauty of Buddhist art, while resonating with the audience. This idea makes happiness gush out from my heart. The composition theme fuses Dunhuang dance,Dunhuang murals,Buddhist ideology, and my personal thinking together. The article emphasizes on the description of “hand”,making a detailed introduction of the abundant amount of“hand gestures” in Dunhuang murals.Speaking of the relevance between Dunhuang dance and hand gestures, rather than saying that the Dunhuang dance highlights the artistry of hand gestures,I believe that the hand gestures actually enriches the connotation of the dance. This is similar to the various “handprints” the Buddha uses to explain dharma in Buddhism.Below are some aspects that the main body of the paper mentions:First of all,the inspiration of the works from hand gestures, the reason for composition, along with the theme's location, are discussed.Introduction of the artistic value of Dunhuang murals, evolution and variations of the hand gestures, and the frescoes elements that Dunhuang dance adds in follows up.Next, the composition part introduces the process of constructing the picture, the use of materials, the appliance of techniques, and the uniqueness of the original work.Advance in the composer's spirits is mentioned later, along with the observation of the language that hand gestures deliver and the possibility of using “hand” as the main character in a composition. Finally, revision and expectation for oneself are shown last.
