Research On The Compensation Of Victims Of The "comfort Women" System In Mainland China Against Japan

After World War II,because of the change of international situation and the outbreak of the cold war,the western countries headed by the United States did not completely deal with Japan's post-war process,so that the war crimes such as comfort women problems had not been properly handled.As a result,the victimized country of war in the world have prosecuted countries such as Germany,Japan to give them compensation for the war.In mainland China,a wave of claims against Japan began since 1990 s.The victims of war who was injured in germ warfare,forced labor,Chongqing bombing and comfort women system were decided to prosecute the Japanese government.By the help of Japanese lawyers,academics and civilian volunteers,the 24 victims of comfort women system from Shanxi and Hainan province prosecute Japanese government from 1995 to 2001 for formal prosecution.By the end of 2010,all the trials were over,the Japanese court sentenced the plaintiff defeat.This paper mainly discusses the prosecution cases made by some Chinese women who were once treated by Japanese army as "comfort women".The research mainly adopts many methods such as literature research,investigation,oral history research and case analysis to analyze the "comfort women" system and claims made by victims.During the war,the plaintiff suffered sexual violence by the Japanese soldiers and physically and mentally damaged greatly.The damage brought serious consequences,the victim's life is full of pain,discrimination,poor and loneliness.Their cruel experience had a huge influence on their family relations and social relations and changed the life trajectory of the plaintiffs.50 years after the war,the victims of "comfort women" system in mainland China decided to take up legal weapons and defend their dignity and human rights.With the help of Chinese and Japanese enthusiasts and lawsuits,support groups were set up.The lawyers' group conduct investigations in Shanxi and Hainan province,and interviewed with the victims to obtain evidence.With the help of the lawyers' group and volunteers,there are 24 victims as plaintiffs to prosecute the Japanese government.On the court,the plaintiff and defendant disputed on international law,time problem,and "personal right".Unfortunately,the Japanese court disregards the fairness and justice of the law,stand by the Japanese government,sentenced theplaintiffs to lose the case.Although lose the case,at the pressure of evidence,the Japanese courts have to admit part of criminal fact.With development of Chinese civil society,more and more people concerned about "comfort women" issue.The strength of folk forces from China and Japan has made great efforts to solve the problem of "comfort women" and improve the living conditions of "comfort women" victims.However,we should also see that the Japanese government and some conservative people are still sticking to their stubborn thoughts about history.Unfortunately,there is little prospect of seeing the “comfort women” issue solved.
