In the translated works of modern missionaries in China,the "The Book of Common Prayer" played a non-negligible role,but seldom raised its concern."The Book of Common Prayer" was born in England to regulate church worship and private spirituality.It not only affects writers such as Shakespeare and Milton,but also promotes the development of modern English national languages.The Chinese version of "The Book of Common Prayer" also plays a complex and multi-dimensional role in the transition period of Chinese new literature.The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the linguistic and literary features of "Prayer Book" in the context of macroscopic history of literature with a careful reading of the texts and a comparison of literary perspectives,and to summarize and illuminate its implications for Chinese literature.In the second chapter,this article outlines the birth,circulation,and translation of the "Book of Prayer" in Chinese.Secondly,the various versions of the "Prayer Book",a Chinese version of the Chinese translation,from the 19 th to the 20 th centuries were exhaustively reviewed from the perspective of literary history.In the third chapter,this article incorporates the Chinese version of the "prayer book" into the historical context of Europeanized vernacular Chinese.The various types of jumble are classified into three periods according to the language:the early classical version,the middle version,Dialect version,the late Mandarin version.Then refined their commonalities in language and summed up their respective roles in the history of literature.In the fourth chapter,based on the different genres in "The Book of Common Prayer," this paper presents three literary features:the intercommunication of Chinese and Western poetry,the pioneer of modern poetry freedom,the formation of Savior's tone,religious imagery and Intertwined Chinese culture.Finally,the study of literary features has been raised to examine the impact of the "prayer book" on Chinese culture in the Chinese translation and to analyze the blending phenomenon and irreconcilability.In the fifth chapter,this article summarizes the three implications of the Chinese translation of the Book of Prayer to literature,namely,the opening of prayer and spiritual literature,the combination of worship and art,and the combination of poetic and artistic.The purpose is to reflect on the relationship between style and text,poetry and music,religion and literature in the Chinese translation of "the prayer book",in order to respond to the significance of the development of Chinese literature.
