Cultural issues have always been a major problem for the nation's vital issues.During the May 4th New Culture Movement in China, many studies of cultural, especially the debates about Chinese and Western cultures, were fundamentally a kind of prayer for national salvation. The conflicts between new and old,Chinese and Western, autocracy and civilization, reflect the great political power of Western countries in modern Western culture. The big problem of how to seek new life for the Chinese nation in the fierce collision. As the cultural giant Hu Shi and Mao Zedong who grew up later,to a certain extent, represent the basic positions of cultural clashes and the basic direction of cultural development. As the leader of the New Culture Movement,Hu Shi's own cultural creation has not only had a profound impact on China's cultural transformation and the formation of Chinese social and cultural perspectives, but also the dual influence of the author's social status and professional characteristics has constituted modern China itself.Hu Shi is an unique "cultural event" in the history of cultural development. On the one hand,Mao Zedong was deeply influenced by the May Fourth New Culture. However, his revolutionary experience and political practice have also made his main role as the founder of China.Especially, the formation and improvement of Mao Zedong Thought. This not only fits the development of Marxism in China, but also constitutes an important theoretical source of the"cultural self-confidence" of the current Communist Party of China. Therefore, based on the relevant principles of the cultural concept, combining the social background and the theme of the times in our country's specific historical period,we systematically sort out their respective views on cultural subject, cultural values and cultural composition, and then compare their respective main characteristics and qualitative differences. It is of great realistic significance to clarify the historical prominence and pluralistic patterns of the formation of modern Chinese culture, especially for the "cultural self-confidence" of the Communist Party of China in the new era. This article is divided into four parts. The first part analyzes "what is culture" and the function of culture. The purpose is to provide the basic culturological and to know the concept of cultural subject, cultural method, cultural values and cultural composition in the later part of the text.It is also the analysis and comparison in this article. The rationale for setting up the "however possible" framework is based on the reason. The second part sorted out the cultural views of Hu Shi and Mao Zedong respectively. From the perspectives of cultural subjectivity, cultural approach, and cultural composition. They are clearly differences between cultural stance and research methods. For example, the former is based on the "elite culture" of the upper celebrities and pursues experimentalism and liberalism, while the latter is rooted in the lower classes and pursues popular culture and scientific socialist culture. The third part, through the overall comparison of Mao Zedong's and Hu Shi's cultural subjective concept, construction methodology and cultural function theory. We can find that Mao Zedong's cultural view is a development of Marxism in China. In the fourth part, focusing on the issue of "cultural self-confidence" of the Communist Party of China in the new era.We have systematically reviewed the background of the times, the theoretical basis, and the reality. This is the reason why the article compares Hu Shi's cultural view and Mao Zedong's view of culture. The purpose of comparison is to provide an exact path dependence for "however possible" and "how to achieve" cultural confidence. To sum up,comparing Mao Zedong's cultural with Hu Shi's cultural perspective not only requires "restoring" history, but more importantly "returning to the history and opening a new era".Mao Zedong's popular culture concept reflects the development direction of Marxism in China. The formation and development of Mao Zedong Thought and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics has always been rooted in the people on the ground. It has always originated from the concrete practice of the Chinese revolution and construction,.and it has always represented the greatest number of people. This is the root of the "culturalconfidence" of the Chinese Communist Party in the new era.
