Terms of things about astronomical phenomena not only has a long history,but also has rich cultural connotations,most of them are basic words and are frequently used in daily life,but at present,the systematic researches on these types of words are very few,especially in the perspective of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.Therefore,in the view of the Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,this paper introduces partial contents of traditional Chinese exegesis and combines semantics of national cultural to make a research on the terms of things about astronomical phenomena for Teaching Chinese as a Second Language with the methods of reading literature,statistical induction,and interpretation of cultural symbols about the language.So as to make Chinese learners have a deep understanding of such words and cultural knowledge of these words.This paper is divided into six parts,the main contents are as follows:The introduction part mainly discusses the research background,current situation,purpose and significance of the text.The first chapter summarizes views of the predecessors and interpretation of "terms of things" and "words about terms of things" in the dictionaries and defines the specific connotation and characteristics of terms of things about astronomical phenomena as well as the contents of research on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.In the study of the specific research contents about astronomical words in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,assimilating the study of traditional Chinese exegesis about the etymological meaning and homo logy relationship of terms of things,combining with the study of semantics of national cultural on the connotations of these words,terms of things about astronomical phenomena is classified into three sections:the research of classification based on semantic field theory,the research of homo logy phenomenon and semantics of national cultural.The second chapter introduces semantic composition analysis based on semantic field theory to classify terms of things about astronomical phenomena,collects and analyzes various categories of words involved in the "HSK Vocabulary and Character Grading Level".Through the analysis,it is concluded that the terms of things about the astronomical objects are larger than the meteorology in terms of the number of these words,or from the extent of the additional semantic types,and the "day,star,sun,moon,wind,rain,cloud and snow" are greater than other categories.The third chapter from the perspective of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language organizing the homologous terms of things about meteorology in "HSK Vocabulary and Character Grading Level" by using homologous dictionaries,homologous dictionary supplements,homologous dictionary re-supplements,etc.Using the theory of "the sounds similar and the meanings in harmony" to compose the cognates.The fourth chapter selects terms of things about meteorology like "day,star,sun,moon,wind,rain,cloud and snow" based on the statistical analysis of the second and third parts.Taking these words as headline to summarize the semantic meanings of the commonly used terms of objects,to refine the semantic national cultural features of terms of things about astronomical phenomena,and to sum up reasons of the formation.The fifth chapter comprehensively proposes the teaching strategies for terms of things about astronomical phenomena in Teaching Chinese as a Second language.Firstly,according to the research,the teaching contents are divided into three parts,each part is adapted to different stages of learners;secondly,the concept of staged teaching and specific teaching methods are proposed,the intuitive teaching method,situational teaching method and source explanation method are most suitable for teaching these words;finally,the teaching of words about "moon" class is used as an example to design a special class teaching plan.This paper combines the research of traditional Chinese exegesis on the terms of things and national semantics in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,takes terms of things about astronomical phenomena,then proposes teaching strategies in the hope that it can serve references for teaching words which contains cultural meaning in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.
