The researches at home and abroad rarely study on time psychology characteristics of children from the perspective of embodied cognition in this filed today.A few scholars had a research of children's time estimation. The studies, however, did not point out that weather the children could improve ability of time estimation or time perception with the positive effect of their physical activity or not.Though it did indicate the time psychology characteristics as their age.Furthermore, how does time psychology characteristics of children is?There were no explanation. The present research explored time psychology characteristics of children on the basis of the influence of physical activity. We based on embodied cognition. It holds that the mind stems from sensorimotor experience and argues that physical activity shapes cognition and thought. Moreover, mirror neurons,as embodied cognition's neurophysiological mechanisms, reveals the deep relations between observation and execution of physical activity and points out the connection between psychological structure, physical activity of human body and our mind.By observing body movements which associates with cognitive tasks we are activated to understand the movements of others. This is what sensorimotor experience portrays cognition and embodied simulation embodies. Our body is the subject of cognition, the original issuer of physical activity and the organizer of activity. The form and content of cognition are up to physical construction and experience. With the body, humanity can perceive and learn the world. In this paper we analyze, from the perspective of ‘Embodied Cognition',the way of backtracking paradigm combines with social situation paradigm, how physical activity positively influences time estimation. We prospectively examined the role of physical activity involvement in4 th Grade for time estimation among the pupils. There are two experiments.Experiment 1discussed weather there is embodied effect in time estimation with the whole or the part of body movement involved. Results show that the two have no difference, however, compared to control group, there are significant difference concern the accuracy of time estimation of them, which proved embodied effect existed.Experiment 2 explored mirror neuron has a positive effect on cognitive processing.Namely, what different influence does the the two experimental treatments(experiencing physical activity personally vs observing physical activity)in time estimationhave? Our findings indicate that, there are significant difference between them. The accuracy of time estimation of the groups experienced personally is higher than the observing one, which is also higher than the control group.Experiment 3,which makes a further explanation to the previous two experiments, revealed a significant difference about the two conditions——right handedness(clockwise rotation)and left handedness(clockwise rotation),that is right handedness(clockwise rotation)is more accurate than the left(clockwise rotation). There are also significant difference on left(turn anticlockwise)the right handedness(turn anticlockwise),which is the former one more accurate than the latter. The two results proved sensorimotor experience and time metaphor involved time estimation cognition process. The above conclusions prove that physical activity and environment are involved in cognitive processing in real time and support the view that the mirror neuron exists our brain and the importance of embodied simulation in cognitive processing.
