Research On The Setting Of Suspense In The Movie

When the current movie market prospered,domestic movies repeatedly created miracles at the box office,and Chinese movies won new development opportunities.In the popular box office and enthusiastic comments from the media,audiences can often be dissatisfied with movie stories.It means that domestic movies are still weak in the narrative reality.As an ancient narrative technique,the suspense narrative has existed in the narrative story of the time of oral tradition.After the birth of the narrative,the narrative art of novels and dramas continued to mature.Suspense,as an element that attracts public interest in the story,has been valued in the film text.Suspense masters like Hitchcock and suspense-type movies have been produced.It is of theoretical and practical significance to study the narrative techniques of film suspense.Based on the theory of narrative theory,the dissertation analyzes the application of the suspense narrative in the film,combines the representative films in the suspense setting,and analyzes the suspense application in the graduation work “Powder”.It is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is a brief overview of suspense,analysis of suspense settings in drama,novels and other literary works,and the relationship with the film suspense.The film draws on suspense narrative techniques from drama and fiction.However,the suspense in the film is not only reflected in the narrative of the story,but also reflects the narrative narrative technique in the visual processing of the screen and the processing of the sound.Therefore,the suspense is more abundant.The second chapter divides the suspense of the movie,mainly including plot suspense,character suspense,screen suspense and voice suspense,as well as a simple analysis of the effects of suspense in each part.The film suspense can satisfy the viewer's psychological expectations of the movie and allow the audience to devote more to the movie story and complete the meaning of the movie.The third chapter mainly analyzes the suspense setting at the play level,including how to set suspense on characters and plots.The fourth chapter is the suspense setting of the visual level,how to use the visual picture,such as the change of light and shadow,the way of composition,and the positional relationship of the figures,to set suspense.The fifth chapter is the suspense setting on the auditory level.It mainly analyzes how to use implied language,different sound effects,and music settings suspense.It should be noted that the narrative of the suspense at the visual and auditory levels is reflected in the conception of the screenwriter stage.In short,the film's twists and turns of the plot,the mysterious relationship between the characters,the rich and varied picture content and sound effects and other elements combined to produce the film's suspense effect.When a film can attract different audiences and viewers want to know about the development of the unknown story in the film,the destiny of the characters,etc.,they are unaware of the eagerly anticipated mood and psychology.Therefore,strengthening the suspense narrative of movies is also based on understanding and grasping the psychology of the audience.
