The Syntactic And Semantic Research On The Structure Of "A_?+V_?"

The syntactic and semantic study of word combinations is a hot topic in linguistics.Word combination is an important link between lexicology and syntax,which carries complex semantic and syntactic information.It is an important part of syntactic and semantic research.Based on the corpus,we chose the "A double +V double" structure as the research object,study the semantic and syntactic situation.We classify the adjective and verb items into semantic categories,analyze the mutual choice between semantic categories,and then study the syntactic function of the structure in sentence.In this paper,109 double syllable adjective items,1057 double syllable verb items and 2042 "A double + V double" structures were selected.The adjective semantic categories include 3 categories,14 subcategories,they are expression,degree,time,speed,frequency,appraisal,status,method,mentality,attitude,character,talent,range,representation.And the verb semantic categories include 4 categories,17 subcategories:Management activities,labor activities,thinking activities,business activities,public activities,social activities,life activities,recreational activities,mental activities,fighting activities,changes,states of affairs,states of matter,animal movements,human movements,natural phenomena,and physiological phenomena.On the basis of semantic categories,this paper analyzes the mutual choice between "A double" and "V double",That is,a certain adjective semantic category select which verb semantic categories,and a certain verb semantic category select which adjective semantic categories.The semantic combination modes of "A double"and "V double" are summarized,there are 14 major categories and 164 subcategories.Finally,the syntactic features of "A double + V double" are analyzed from the external sentence level.A total of 10210 sentences are randomly selected from the corpus,we got the syntactic function and the syntactic position of the "A double + V double" structure in the sentence.In conclusion,this paper malkes a comprehensive survey of the "A double + V double" structure from the internal semantic combination and external syntactic functions,establishes a semantic classification system of "A double" and "V double",and analyzes the mutual semantic choices and limitations.The combination of adjectives and verbs in the "A double +V double" structure is presented in more detail.Based on this,the paper also summarizes the semantic combination modes of "A double" and "V double".However,due to the limitations of time and ability,the research is still rather shallow and there are many issues that need to be studied urgently,including the problem of lexical and syntactic semantic interaction and restriction.
