In the new curriculum reform,the English life-oriented teaching is a key part.The primary school English teachers also attach great importance to English life-oriented teaching,and hope to apply life-oriented teaching to their own teaching practice.However,due to the teachers' misunderstanding of the concept of life-oriented teaching,the rapid changes in student life,the continuous updating of the teaching materials,and the lack of evaluation methods of life-oriented teaching,the English teachers encountered many difficulties and obstacles in the life-oriented teaching practice.In 2014,the Ministry of National Education proposed the "core literacy system concept" and pointed out that the core qualities of Chinese students should include the necessary qualities and key abilities that students should possess to be able to adapt to lifelong development and social development.This compels English teachers to pay more attention to students' actual life to teach and not to separate English teaching from students' life.If in the teaching process,the teachers do not integrate students' personal life with today's social life,it'll be far from improving the students' core qualities.This article analyzes the present situation of primary school students'life-oriented English teaching,based on the actual life of our school students to carry out English life teaching,It will be aimed at cultivating students' thinking quality;achieving the scientific construction of English knowledge;creating an English teaching classroom based on life and integrating the practical abilities with the innovation spirit,finally promoting the real realization of the life of life-oriented English teaching.Based on the analysis of life-oriented English teaching at home and abroad,a literature survey,action research method,investigation method,and case study method were adopted.Through doing a questionnaire survey among the students in our school,interviewing some English teachers and combinating the analysis of the classroom teaching cases,the problems in primary school English life-oriented teaching are found.The problems are that teachers' understanding of English life-oriented teaching is not comprehensive,teaching contents are out of touch with students' actual life,teaching methods are not closely related to student life,and teaching evaluation is based on the assessment of knowledge points and summative assessment.Accordingly,the article analyzed the causes of these problems and put forward some improvement strategies for primary school English life-oriented teaching.It proposed that the teachers should strengthen learning,establish a scientific life-oriented teaching idea and dig up the relations between textbooks and students' life.They should also increase the design of English life in the teaching process;use modern information technology to enrich life-oriented English teaching and effectively promote the evaluation of teaching and develop students'comprehensive language skills.At the same time,it analyzes the implementation of the primary school English life-oriented teaching.It mainly uses three sections of Yilin Primary School English to carry out teaching design and implementation research.Finally,it analyzes the practical effects of primary school life-oriented English teaching.
