Design And Development Of HSK Test System Based On Intelligent Voice Technology

In November 2009,on the basis of reforming the old HSK,the Hanban/Confucius Institute launched the new HSK to meet the needs of Chinese language assessment,the new HSK focuses on the ability of Chinese non-first-language learners to use Chinese in life,study and work.It is also an important evidence for foreign students to study in China.At the same time,the rapid development of information technology,especially the rapid development of intelligent voice technology,has brought a brand new revolution in the testing of language proficiency.It takes advantage of its own advantages to present exam content,provide candidates with more intelligent human-computer interaction and achieve automated scoring,and this change has become an inevitable trend in the development of the exam.By analyzing the status of new HSK testing,the article finds that there are still some deficiencies in the following aspects in current HSK testing.First of all in the content:HSK still some of the questions exam vocabulary,grammar knowledge,which to some extent,do not meet the latest language testing concepts;Some questions are presented in the form of fables,it is difficult for students to understand them.Secondly,in terms of form:the existing HSK test mainly includes paper-pencil test and network test,the paper-pencil test will waste a lot of manpower and resources;while the network test is convenient,flexible and cost-effective,there are still some shortcomings such as the audio in listening part needs to be recorded by professionals;its interaction modes are text interaction and button interaction,which can not provide students with a more natural interaction experience.In view of the shortcomings in the current HSK test,this study tries to propose solutions-first,based on the concept of task-based language testing,the advanced intelligent voice technology is used to change the existing testing methods and interaction modes of HSK,namely design and develop HSK online test system based on intelligent voice technology;second,after the online test system is completed,the traditional paper-pencil test and network test are carried out by 60 foreign students who have already reached HSK Level 4.Test results show that although there is a difference between the scores of the paper-pencil test group and those of the network test group,it is not statistically significant,meanwhile,the scores of the paper-pencil test group and those of the network test group,there is a strong correlation or a moderate correlation between them.This shows that most of the students' performance did not change greatly due to the change of the test mode.Therefore,it can be concluded that the traditional paper-pencil test is equivalent to the network test.Finally,In order to investigate students' attitudes toward intelligent voice technology,interview the network test group,the results showed that in the synthesis of speech,most students think that the sound synthesized by the computer is not as good as the sound of live-recording because the voice of the live-recording is more standard and clear;In speech recognition,most students think that the use of this technology not only improves the interactive experience,but also improves their enthusiasm for testing.
