A Study On The Town Of Juanfang In The Tang Dynasty

In this paper,Fu Fang Town belonging to defensive town in Frontier according to the classification of town by Zhang Guogang about Tang Dynasty.Fu Fang Town,mainly consists of Fu Zhou,Fang Zhou,Dan Zhou and Yan Zhou.The military strategic position of Fu Fang Town including to Fu Zhou,Fang Zhou,Dan Zhou and Yan Zhou continues to improve gradually during the An-Shi Rebellion.After the rebellion,Fu Fang Town plays an important role in preventing some nations of northwest from invading Tang Dynasty?protecting Chang An?counterpoising the town of northwest and supporting Tang Dynasty.This paper will discuss Fu Fang Town from four parts:the general situation,conditions and establishment during An-Shi Rebellion,evolution from Tang DaiZong to ending of Tang Dynasty and relationship between Fu Fang Town and Central government.It will Reveal that not only the relationship between Fu Fang Town and Central government but also the internal revelation between the evolution of Defensive town in Frontier and the development of Tang Dynasty.The first chapter,the general situation of Fu Fang town,will discover that the establishment and evolution from beginning to ending,geography,traffic and economy.First of all,many historic documents will be applied to find out the establishment and abolition.Secondly,many historic documents will be applied to find out the location and traffic.Thirdly,many historic documents will be applied to find out agricultural,business and handicraft industry.The second chapter,conditions and establishment during An-Shi Rebellion,will describe vacancy of defense,condition of northwest area and establishment of Fu Fang town.After An-Shi Rebellion,a lot of army in frontier were dispatched to inland,which leads to vacancy of defense.As a result,TuBo and DangXiang invade Tang Dynasty,establishment of Fu Fang town and finally became five town in northwest.The third chapter,evolution from Tang DaiZong to ending of Tang Dynasty,will describe the development of Fu Fang town,combining policy of town and northwest,GuanZhong,Central Plains wars.Fu Fang town takes part in wars that Central government suppressing Rebellion many times,and supporting Central government in Tang Dynasty.After Huang-Chao uprising,the balance between towns and Central government will be destroyed,Fu Fang town from humble town become controlled by powerful town.The four chapter,relationship between Fu Fang Town and Central government,including three parts:the type of Fu Fang Town,the relationship between chief in town and Central government,and the military strategic position of Fu Fang Town.Central government can control the northwest town in effect.the military strategic position of Fu Fang Town include four roles:north-barrier of Chang An,Defender line of northwest town,counterpoise northwest town and area of army and support.After Fu Fang town was controlled by Li MaoZhen and Zhu QuqnZhong,from humble town become domineering town.
