Event-based prospective memory(PM)refers to remember to perform the intended activity when encounters the appropriate chance or meets the clue to the external environment, which reflects one of the characteristics of prospective memory is planning.Prospective memory is a common memory type in life. Its failure of execution will affect life, and even threaten life. The mechanism of eventual prospective memory processing is controversial:Simple Activation Model claims prospective memory relies on automatic process, and without cognitive resources;Multi-processes Model considers that under certain conditions, prospective memory does not involve cognitive resources, while some conditions needs consume attention resources;strategy control processing theory suggests that the successful completion of prospective memory requires the input of resources. The focus of the debate is that the recognition of the target cue and' the extraction of the intention behavior of the prospective memory depend on the automatic processing,or the strategy control processing. The key processing steps for successful implementation of prospective memory is the identification of clues,so the character of clues has an impact on the strategy of allocating attention resources in the prospective memory task.On the one hand, the study of the relationship between clue properties and PM can help individuals better understand the mechanism of prospective memory,in order to improve the efficiency of implementation of future plans;on the other hand,it also helps the individual to avoid the risk caused by the failure of prospective memory clue extraction. In addition, the previous research mostly used both hands button response, the left and right key layout was easy to form the left and right schema of space, and both hands movement may also be related to the disturbance variables and influenced the experimental results. Therefore, this study uses eye tracking technology, with eye tracking response instead of the hands button.Through two experiments, the study can find a suitable theoretical explanation.Combined with eye tracking technology, the visual search paradigm was used to carry out the ongoing task which is embedded the prospective memory task. This study discusses the influence of resource allocation on prospective memory by the nature of cues:focus and significance.Experiment 1:According to the different nature of the PM tasks, the subjects were randomly assigned to three groups:without PM task?PM delay?PM task. The aim is to explore the cognitive resources involved in the processing of prospective memory and the allocation of attentional resources between the ongoing task and prospective memory task under the condition of focused cues.Experiment 2:According to the significance and the significance of the cues, the experiment was designed within subjects. The purpose of this study is to explore whether the cue retrieval of the event based prospective memory is automatic and how to allocate resources between two tasks under the condition of significant cue.Combined with behavioral data and eye movement data, under the condition of focusing and significant cues, prospective memory needs to attention resources and may be continued to invest resources to pay attention to monitor the cues in the environment, resulting in significant cost of ongoing tasks. In addition, the in-depth study of the eye movement data of the failure of the prospective memory task, finding that the subjects watched the prospective memory cues, but there was still prospective memory missed. Moreover, compared with missing report, the first fixation and the total fixation time of hit condition were much longer. That is,the lack of attention resources and processing level is not deep will affect the success of prospective memory. The results showed, under the focused and significant cue conditions, the successful implementation of prospective memory required the individual to pay attentional resources to the detection of the target clues, which could help extract the delayed intention retained in the memory. The extraction of clues consumed attentional resources and caused task interference. It indicated that the successful execution of intention required preparatory attention to participate in processing, which was consistent with the strategy processing.
