Prospective memory is an important memory type in successful dealing withthe daily affairs and maintaining normal life,50%-70%of the memory problems inlife can be attributed to the prospective memory. For prospective memory functionobstacle emerged social events (such as forgetting forgetting appointments), usuallybe interpreted as communication attitude problem or personality problems, such as isnot willing to keep the appointment or dishonesty. Early childhood is an importantperiod for the development of prospective memory, but the research for thedevelopment trend of prospective memory and influencing factors in childhood is notmuch.The research objects are children at the age5-12years old, two2(motivationlevels:high, low)×8(age:5years old-12years old) between-subject design wasadoped, respectively discussing the children in time-based and event-based two tasktypes of prospective memory development characteristics and task motivation level onchildren’s prospective memory effects, comparing the prospective memory differenceof the same age children in different period (6years old in kindergarten, primaryschool,12years in primary school and junior high school).The results showed:1. Time-based prospective memory in5-11years old is steadily developed,however, there is no obvious difference in the event-based prospectivememory at the age between5to12.2. The effect of motivation level on the prospective memory of two tasks forchildren at the age between5to12is not obvious.3. The transition period from primary school to junior school has a certain effecton the prospective memory, the prospective memory score of children at theage of12in junior school is obvious better than those in primary school;However, the transition period effect of children at the age of6is not obvious.4. The prospective memory behaviors of children at the age of5-12in this twotask types is obvious different, The event-based prospective memory score issignificantly better than the score of time-based prospective memory.
