Based on the development situation theory and the research results at home and abroad, this study intends to explore the relationship between mother’s parenting style(authoritative parenting styles and authoritarian parenting styles)and aggressive behavior(reactive aggressive and proactive aggressive),as well as the regulating role of effortful control or anger frustration in it.In this study, cluster sampling was conducted for each class and 455 students from a primary school in Foshan were selected as subjects.Among them, there were 248 boys(54.50%)and 207 girls(45.50%);130 students(28.50%)in grade 4,158 students(34.80%)in grade 5,and 167 students(36.70%)in grade 6;age at 8-13 years old.Through the mother’s Parenting Style and Dimension Questionnaire(PSDQ)to measure the mother’s authoritative and authoritarian style of parenting, mothers fill in the Early Adolescent Temperament Questionnaire-Revision-short(EATQ-R-s)to measure children’s effortful control and anger frustration.Reactive aggressive and proactive aggressive were measured by the mother and child who filled out the Reactive-Proactive aggressive Questionnaire(RPQ).In order to explore the influence of children’s effortful control and anger frustration on mother’s parenting style and children’s aggressive behavior,a latent moderated structural equations was constructed,in which the independent variable is mother’s parenting style, the adjustment variable is children’s effortful control or anger frustration, the dependent variable is child aggressive behavior, and the interaction item is mother parenting style × child temperament, the results found:(1)The effortful control or anger frustration plays a regulatory role between the mother’s authoritarian parenting style and children’s reactive aggressive and proactive aggressive(mother’s assessment).(2)The moderating effect of children’s effortful control and anger frustration on mother’s authoritative parenting style and children’s reactive and proactive aggressive(mother’s assessment)are not significant.(3)The moderating effect of children’s effortful control and anger frustration on mother’s parenting style and children’s reactive and proactive aggressive(children’s assessment)are not significant.Based on the findings of this study and existing theories, this paper draws the following conclusion: children’s effortful control can buffer the adverse effects of mother’s authoritarian parenting style on children’s reactive and proactive aggressive;and children’s anger frustration can aggravate the adverse effects of mother’s authoritarian parenting style on children’s reactive and proactive aggressive.
