Linguistic representation is the symbolic reality of individual psychological representation.Previous studies have shown that linguistic representation can have an impact on the individual's psychological level.Social adaptation is the adjustment of one's own physical and mental state in the interaction of the individual with the social environment,so that it is in harmony with the social environment. As a psychological activity, social adaptation can be predicted by linguistic representation. As an ability to understand and feel others' thoughts and emotions in interpersonal interactions, perspective taking exists in the process of social adaptation, and language plays an important role in the process of perspective taking. Therefore,in this study, questionnaires and story methods were used to explore the prediction of linguistic representation to social adaptation and perspective taking, the influence of linguistic representation intervention on social adaptation and perspective taking and the moderating effect of perspective taking in linguistic representation intervention and social adaptation. In the first study,we compiled a social adaptation and perspective taking questionnaire on the basis of reference to related researchs, combined with the condition of college students' social adaptation and perspective taking. In the second study, the questionnaire method was used to obtain the individual's level of social adaptation and opinion selection,as well as individual language information,to explore the linguistic representation patterns corresponding to social adaptation and the perspective taking, and the predictive signals of linguistic representation on the social adaptation and the perspective taking.Study 3 used story method to explore the effects of linguistic representation interventions on individual social adaptation and the perspective taking.Based on the third research, the fourth research examines how the perspective taking plays a role in the relationship between linguistic representation intervention and social adaptation. This study has the following conclusions:(1)The using-frequency of nouns can be used to predict the level of alter ego occupational adaptation in social adaptation and the level of cognitive perspective taking in perspective taking.(2)The linguistic representation intervention can influence the level of individual's alter ego occupational adaptation.Compared with individuals who do not perform linguistic representation interventions, individuals who perform linguistic representation interventions have significant change of alter ego occupational.(3)The linguistic representation intervention have no significant effect on the individual's cognitive perspective taking.(4)The ability of cognitive perspective taking plays a regulatory role in the linguistic representation intervention and the alter ego occupational adaptation.Individuals with high cognitive perspective taking who engage in linguistic representation interventions show a higher level of alter ego occupational adaptation than individuals in control group;but the individuals with low cognitive perspective taking, whether they perform linguistic representation intervention or not, there is no significant difference in the level of alter ego occupational adaptation.
