The Application Research Of Performance Evaluation In The Integrated Classroom Of Elementary School English Unit

In 2011,“ Compulsory English Curriculum Standard(2011 edition)”published by Ministry of Education proposed that,efforts should be made in terms of improving assessment methods with an emphasis on assessing students’ abilities to communicate in English.How to make assessment facilitate both teachers’ teaching and students learning has been paid much attention in English education.Based on this issue,the thesis focuses on the reform of assessment in English classroom,exploring the theoretical basis and practicality of application of performance assessment in measuring student’s English abilities in classroom.At the beginning,the thesis illustrates the significance of the performance assessment in English lesson assessment that based on unit integration.Secondly;the thesis demonstrates and analyzes two core concept-“unit integration” and “performance assessment” through literature review.Then,a clear implication of English unit instruction design will be clarified and a content of assessment concerning English unit instruction design in primary school will be put forward.In addition,the thesis demonstrates the specific procedures of performance assessment: setting of the assessment objectives,design of performance tasks and rulemaking of scoring.Finally,the thesis explores how to apply performance assessment in English communicative competence evaluation by case study and combining it with the specific teaching content.Based on the reflection of application of performance assessment in unit integral instruction design,the thesis discuss the following issues and makes certain recommendations.Firstly,strengthen teacher’s training and popularize the knowledge of performance assessment.Secondly;make good use of the strength of the group and develop the perfect evaluation scale.Third: school policies support teachers to carry out performance assessment.
