Temporal perception and temporal memory, which are cloesely connected with social practice, are important topics in cognitive area. Both of them are influenced by many factors. In order to explore if color features of visual stimulation have effects on temporal perception and temporal memory, this research adopted a copy task. The experiment included two 3x2x3(hue,saturation,duration)mixed experimental designs, which are designed respectively to explore how hue and saturation affect the processing of temporal perception(within 3s)and temporal memory(above 3s).Results:(1)The effect of hue is significant. The estimated duration is longer when the visual stimulation is red than green and blue, and there is.no significant difference between green and blue;(2)The effect of saturation is significant. The estimated duration is longer when the visual stimulation is in high saturated color than in low saturated color.(3)The effect of duration is significant. The estimated duration is longer than actual within 1000ms,while above 1000ms,it is shorter than actual. The relative error varies significantly at all levels.Conclusions:(1)Hue has an effect on the processing of time information,in that red makes people overestimate temporal durations while green and blue do the opposite.(2)Saturation has an effect on the processing of time information,in that high saturated color makes people overestimate temporal durations while low saturated color does the opposite.(3)People tend to overestimate short durations and underestimate long durations within the range of several seconds. There is a temporal duration which people can judge correctly.(4)Arousal mechanism plays the leading role in the early stage of time cognition.
