Since the twentieth century, the ecological crisis in human society has become more and moreserious. The research of ecological criticism and ecological aesthetics have been accepted by writers and critics and become the hot spot of attention nowadays. The difference of Cormac McCarthy is that the novel contains criticism and discussion of natural ecology, colonial ecology and spiritual ecology, while the seeminglyviolent, bloody and evendesperate language deeply reflects the malpractices in the development of social civilization.Based on his years of wilderness life,McCarthy outlined a wild and beautiful landscape, but the invasion of modern industry let him sigh.Transfrontier colonial dialogue is McCarthy's deep reflection on ecological justice and social justice. While describing the irreconcilable cultural conflict between the colonial power and the suzerain,he reveals the gradual deconstruction of "American mythology",and the dream of extending the wilderness and living in a different place finally becomes a utopia. The root of the ecological problem lies in the alienation of the human spirit, the great heroic faith and the divine religious salvation are all insignificant after the loss of humanity,McCarthy wrote the people with a very sad and nostalgic tone to mourn his lost spiritual homeland.Technology can destroy life, but nature can dance with the soul.McCarthy's questioning of the nature of human existence through the question of life and death impels us to give more attention and thought to society while developing civilization.
