The competition of talents is the root of the competitions of science and technology and the competition of economic development.The quality of education decides the quality of talents training.Primary and secondary education,which is the foundation of education,is based on the perfection of knowledge structure and professional development of teachers.The language education characteristics of English subject determine the extensive and complex content of English teachers'professional knowledge.The in service training course can be an important step for English teachers to acquire new professional knowledge and new teaching strategies.Therefore,exploring the existing problems and possible countermeasures of the in service training courses from the field of teachers' professional knowledge theory is of great practical significance for promoting teacher education reform,promoting perfection of English teachers' knowledge structure,improving their level of professional development.By consulting the research literature about English teachers' professional knowledge,this paper generalizes the professional knowledge of English teachers into two categories:the professional knowledge of English subject(including the content knowledge of English subject,the course knowledge of English subject,the teaching knowledge of English subject)and the knowledge of Education(including the general knowledge of education and the knowledge of education situation).Based on this,this paper studies the existing problems in the content and implementation of in service training for secondary school English teachers.This paper takes investigation,interview and literature analysis as main research methods and have collected information of secondary school English teachers' in service training from teachers training organization,interviewed many secondary school English teachers.Therefore,this paper compares the current conditions of the secondary school English teachers' in service training with the real demands of secondary school English teachers,and put forward the existing problems and the corresponding solution strategies of those courses.Based on the content above,this paper draws the following conclusions:the current secondary school English teachers' in service training courses do exist different problems like the unbalanced content of training courses,the lack of pertinence of various kinds of professional knowledge which are needed by theEnglish teachers,the unitary implementation of the training course,the unclear division of the training objects,and the unsound system of the curriculum evaluation.In order to solve those problems,this paper puts forward the following solutions:deepening the course content,promoting the English teachers to perfect their professional knowledge structure,choosing the courses' content comprehensively,keeping the courses advanced,enriching the implementation forms of the courses,and adding more real teaching cases in the course content;subdividing the training teachers groups,organizing courses according to the professional development of English teachers,perfecting the evaluation and supervision mechanism of courses effect.
