Study of second language communication strategy(CS)dated from 1970s,English-based of which has already outlined a schematism of studies,while Chinese-based of which is comparatively unsubstantial.It's also extremely deficient to do research on CS of specific Chinese learners in Chinese CS research.The paper draws the following conclusions by analyzing the classification and distribution of communication strategy in a two-way communication task of 10 advanced Chinese learners of Minzu University of China from different countries.Firstly,in output-based communication strategy,advanced Chinese learners prefer to use achievement strategy rather than avoidance.In achievement strategy,they tend to use paraphrasing and appeal for assistance.Secondly,in input-based communication strategy,advanced Chinese learners prefer to use confirmation check.The distinction of frequency of utilization between comprehension check and clarification request is not obvious.Thirdly,in output-based and input-based interaction of communication,there is no positive connection between the ability of oral expression and listening comprehension of advanced Chinese learners.And the range of lexical density of their tape scripts is from 0.35 to 0.45.The conclusions could draw great inspiration for both definition of oral proficiency for Chinese learners and contrastive analysis among learners at different levels.We could elaborate on two aspects.On one hand,they could give detailed description on the classification and distribution of CS of advanced Chinese learners,which will lay the foundation for creating a competent standard of them.On the other hand,they could lay the theoretical and statistical foundation on contrastive analysis of using communication strategy for different-level Chinese learners,which will provide targeted guidance on Chinese CS teaching.Finally,the paper gives a specific definition on the standard of CS of advanced Chinese learners and makes a scale for the standard of CS competence.Meanwhile,it also puts forward some ideas on Chinese CS teaching,which aims to gain extensive attention of research on Chinese CS by scholars.
