On The Style And Singing Of Huang Zi's Art Songs

Huang Zi is an important musician,educationist and musical theorist in modern times of China.Although his life is ephemeral,but his music word and artistic ideal established solid basis for the flourish of this field and he has made preeminent contribution to early development of Chinese music.His art songs are prominent among his numerous works,and these outstanding works still has unique charm up to the present.I choose his songs as research subject for two reasons: on the one hand,Huang Zi has affected Chinese modern music and art songs;on the other hand,as a graduate student of vocal singing,I love our national music,and after learning bel canto,I found we should study singing method of Chinese vocal works and using European vocal method to the works of homeland composers.Thus,guided by my director,I choose Huang Zi' s art style and songs as my study subject.I hope find the source of the unique charm of his songs and analyze his singing method.Thereby,we can entirely and preliminarily study Huang Zi' s art songs.By studying Huang Zi' s life experience,art achievement,the holistic style characteristic of his art songs and some singing methods,I analyzing his art songs style and singing.On the basis of historical materials and my own singing experience,I choose some songs I have sung.According to studying timbre,dynamics,speed,pronouncing words,I expound some of artistic methods of singing Huang Zi' s different theme artistic songs and what I have learned style from my singing.I hope that I can understand Huang Zi's singing method and bring forward some constructive ideas for the sake of singing his songs.
