The Artistic Characteristics And Singing Treatment Of The Song "Mulan Joining The Army"

Yu opera of He'nan is one of the five major dramas in China,which plays an important role in Chinese traditional culture.It is very popular among many people by virtue of the powerful and melodious singing,and the story which is close to life.The song of “Mulan Joins the Army”,compiled by Liu Ling,composed by Wang Zhixin,was drawn from the folk song “The ballad Ode of Mulan” in Northern and Southern dynasty and Yu opera “Mulan”.In the creation process of the song,the song writer not only inherited the outstanding Chinese traditional culture,but also learned from modern composition techniques to explore a path of “Opera-folk song” for the development of our folk vocal music.This paper,named as The Art Characteristic and Singing Way of “Mulan Joins the Army”,made a comprehensive analysis and demonstration by the music morphological characteristics,lyric art features,singing skills,and emotional expression,and aimed at improving the singing and research level of folk vocal works.
