Research On The Application Of Illustrations In Modern Children's Books

With the arrival of the reform and opening-up in China and technology development,digital media started enter our life and the illustration art stepped into a process of evolvement as well.Currently,instead of fancy physical books,more and more digital books came out and got popular.The modern illustration art was developed from “as the supplementary instruction and appreciation with the writing in the book” to the independent valued artwork.It could makes readers obtain satisfaction and perceptual recognition,which be nurtured by the art.The modern illustration art is basically away from the narrow purpose which only as the supplementary of the book,its specialty and advantage is gradually adapted into the development of the society and become influence the areas of economic and culture.Comparing to the developed countries.our domestic illustration industry still immature.especially in the children illustration area.The stories with profound content and the feature of our traditional culture are very rare.The image design and color using are very simplex without our natural features with the great influence by the western countries.Only a few artworks still remain the features of our traditional culture,which cannot develop into a large scale.This essay started from the brief of the eastern and western illustration art,then lead to the problem existed in the illustration art of modern children's books and analyze the designing philosophy with the discussion of the principle of design positioning.This essay is aimed to make designers put more effort into the chosen and design of the children's illustration art,which means the image and color design should be adapted to the mindset and aesthetic taste of different child's age.This is the important way to attract children's interest in reading and lead them to explore and discover the different world in books.Simultaneously,we are encouraged the designers created more artworks with the features of national culture.The shoddy illustration design should be abandoned and we should help children develop their creation ability and keep the national culture as well.Especially on the inheritance and development of national culture,the current situation of illustration art still carries our national culture and values.
