As a marginalized group excluded from society,Michel Foucault believes that the identity nature and social significance of the insane are not inherent, but the result of the interactive operation of power relations. As one of the sixth generation of directors,Guan Hu's crazy image in the film not only reflects the confusion, anxiety and increasing sense of alienation of human beings in the postmodern society, but also implies some order problems and morbid group consciousness in today's society. From the perspective of post-modernism culture, this paper analyzes the characteristics of post-modernism culture of mad images in Guan Hu's films. The first chapter discusses Michel Foucault's theory of madness and the process of exclusion of madness in the development of social history.Goffman's stigmatization theory,as the development of the theory of madness, reveals that the reason for the stigmatization of madness is not determined by its own mental derangement, but is constantly differentiated and strengthened in the process of social interaction. The second chapter comprehensively presents different types of crazy images in guan hu films. For example,Niu Fei,who loses the meaning of subject value after losing the material label,Niu Er,a farmer who sticks to the contract and strives to survive in the chaos of war,Niu Jieshi,a solid "other" who is excluded from the discipline of rational collective, and an "old cannon" who sticks to the outdated belief in modern society. They are not really crazy, but the search for the true self, the challenge of fate, the liberation of humanity and the persistence of the little man.The third chapter,as the focus of this paper, analyzes the characteristics of the crazy images in Guan Hu's films from the perspective of postmodernism. For example, the distinction between hero and ruffian is no longer clear, the two can be transformed into each other;Modernism's lofty pursuit of beauty was abandoned by postmodernism. The meta-narrative mode is broken into symbolic symbols. The traditional order is resisted by the madmen, and the authority cannot suppress their inner yearning for freedom and happiness. The individual is always insignificant in front of history and destiny, and the absurdity of destiny is revealed everywhere under the hardships of life.Reason is no longer the only standard of judgment, contempt for reason, madness in the carnival highlights the passion of life. The fourth chapter analyzes the causes of the postmodernism of the mad image in Guan Hu's films from three aspects: the personal experience of the director, the infiltration of the western postmodernism cultural trend and the squeeze of the social transformation on the individual. The fifth chapter discusses the postmodern cultural value and significance of Guan Hu's crazy image.Through the crazy image,we can realize Guan Hu's unique perception of artistic life and strong humanistic concept, and further analyze the problems in the image building of Guan Hu's crazy image.
