Bing Xinwan's Mourning Prose Research

Mourning prose runs through the whole life of Bing Xin's creation.Her delicate brushwork depicts the most sincere emotion in her heart,leaving precious artistic essays for the world.This thesis studies Bing Xin's mourning prose from three aspects,namely,the form and content characteristics of the essay,the relationship between the creation process and the context as well as the value and significance of mourning prose.The preface part expounds the current research situation of Bing Xin's prose in China and overseas countries,the value and significance of Bing Xin's mourning prose research,and also in this part,it explains the research ideas of this thesis accordingly.The first chapter researches on personal memory and emotional writing of Bing Xin.As for the subject matter,the mourning prose in her early years(before1951)is good at getting into the topic with trivial things in life.There are very few personal and living narratives of her prone,while mostly are from the perspective of the deceased's contribution to the collective cause when came to the middle(1953-1982)of her life.But when came to her late years,the narrative of life is restored and adopted as the characteristic of her prone.In terms of emotional expression,the works in her early years tend to express emotion in a monolingual way,then when came to the middle,it shows a writing state of emotional imbalance,in which personal emotions are both suppressed and want to shake off the shackles,and came to the late(after1983),it adopted the expression of restraint of emotion.In terms of language form then,the lyrical and gentle language are mostly appeared in her early prose,while stylized languages are mostly appeared in her prone of middle years,and simple but profound in meaning language are mostly appeared in her late prose.The second chapter reveals the relationship between the expression space of the writer's creation and the external context.The early creation made by Bing Xin was seldom constrained by the context and could freely express her heart.While,in the middle years of her life,her mourning prose is more constrained by style and political disclosure,thus showing a paradigm feature in language and writing structure.However,the inner expression demands will make the writer failure to become a simple force subject to external suppression.Bing Xin fought for the maximum freedom of writing through various torturous ways,thus preventing these works from degenerating into completely aphasia “non-self” works.And in her later years,Bing Xin found a space to reinterpret and freely express the past,and attached importanceto the prose style.So much mourning prose that conform to the style standard and could freely express feelings are created in this period of time.The third chapter expounds the value and significance of Bing Xin's mourning prose and the personality of Bing Xin in mourning prose.Firstly,mourning prose has its own literary and artistic value.Secondly,as a memorial work for the deceased,mourning prose could provide literature for the study of relevant figures.At the same time,her creation process for more than half a century has made her creations the gramophone of the times and preserving documents for the study of social conditions in specific times.Thirdly,in Bing Xin's mourning prose,a different personally image of Bing Xin is constructed.In the traditional impression,Bing Xin,who is gentle and has no sharpness,also has a sharp and upright side,with clear love and hate.In addition,Bing Xin,in her later years,was an optimistic and wise woman with a unique perception of the meaning of life through death.
