Camille Saint-Saen was one of the most famous composers during the Romantic Period in France.He was good at many kinds of musical instruments as an excellent pianolist and oranist and was a major figure in french music history.His works spread widely,including this Danse Macabre,one of his magnum opus.The Danse Macabre on two pianos is a successful transcription.In this piece of work,the audience can enjoy both the symphonic acoustics and the mysitic ambiences and musical images.In addition,it gives player adequate space for showing virtuosity.Based upon the author's practice and the research into the creation background of Danse Macabre,this paper would discus the collaboration between two players and would analysis three facets of performance skills when playing this piece of work.
