At the beginning of the nineteenth century,France, whether musicians or writers, was full of curiosity and awe for the medieval culture.Art creation with the theme of "death" prevailed.Among them,"Dance Macabre",written by French composer Saint-Sa?ns in 1874,was based on a strange poem by the French poet Henry Zaris, which adopted the music from the Book of Dise Irae. The tune is one of the four symphonic poems written by Saint-Sa?ns in his lifetime, which is widely spread and loved by people.Ernest Guiraud,a French composer and music teacher, adapted the orchestral "Dance Macabre" into a Four-Hand piano version in 1887.His adaptation not only fully continues the style of the music, but also has the characteristics of "symphony".In the postgraduate stage, the author and his partner completed the interpretation of the piano four-handed play "Dance Macabre",so through the combination of their own experience and stage experience, the adapted work has a new artistic value of interpretation. This article will start from four parts: introduction, composer and works introduction, music analysis and performance analysis. The performance analysis part deeply interprets the application of symphony in performance and the application of performance skills in music performance,so as to improve the professional level and performance ability of piano and lay a foundation for better learning other piano works in the future.
