Since the 20 th century,The art of painting has been influenced by the social development and large-scale industrial production at the same time.At this time,the artists began to deepen their understanding of art,and to think about the social environment.They based on their long-term accumulated experience and all kinds of materials combined with analysis and exploration,merged with various angles of thinking,innovation and development.They tried to open up a new space of artistic thinking from the point of view of painting media.At this time,the media not only is acted as the carrier of modeling and color expression,but also its unique expressive power is discovered,and it's attached importance is widely studied and applied.Even so to make the creation more free and to carry out the individual expression.The expression of personality needs more and more comprehensive means,which can be fused through a variety of disciplines,and the creation of artistic creation is more diversified.Nevertheless,it is the unity of the author's ideology,which is the reproduction or enlargement of the characteristics of the author.This research studies the development of painting history through the development media history.On the one hand,it analyzes the influence of media on artistic works,on the other hand,it discusses the differences between individual expression of works and the relationship between media and artistic works.This paper studies the unity of individual expression in the context of multi-media painting from different angles.In addition to exploring the unity of individual expression,the development of multi-media painting and the developmental trend of multi-media painting are comprehensively explored.
