Aesthetic Study Of Abstract Animation

Previous researches on abstract animation mainly focus on stages,regionsand individual cases of artists,and pay less attention to the overallcharacteristics of abstract animation and related aesthetic theories.This paperattempts to analyze the existence and occurrence of the aesthetic mechanismof abstract animation from the beginning of the European avant-gardemovement in the 1920s to the practical process of the global digital mediaexperiment in the past 100 years.By sorting out different types of works indifferent periods,four common aesthetic elements of graphics,movement,sound and time are extracted,and their functions and interrelations areanalyzed,so as to conclude two major aesthetic characteristics of abstractanimation from outside to inside:freedom and harmony of sound painting,symbol and metaphor.Finally,it reveals the unique value of abstract animationin the social and cultural levels:the worldwide audio-visual language and theexpression of the inner reality of the life in the universe.
