Since the birth of Western paintings,a large number of works have been presented in the form of "dark-backgrounds".The reasons for their origin and development are many.This paper attempts to study the origin and development of the "dark-colored" paintings in the Western historical and cultural background,and through the analysis of the "dark-colored" prints appearing in the corresponding period,the final development of the "dark-colored" paintings becomes The process ofmulti-meaning expression.This paper mainly uses the interpretation of the "dark and black" text,based on the influence of Western history and cultural concepts,focuses on the analysis of representative art cases,and attempts to present a multi-dimensiona"dark-colored" painting analysis.In the first chapter,the emphasis is on the historical evolution of the symbolic meaning of "black and dark" and the lexical analysis.Its symbolic meaning combines historical and cultural factors,as well as the drive ofreligious change and power.In the second chapter,using the example analysis method and the literature reference method,the historical dimension is used to sort out the source and development clues of the "dark background" painting in the history ofWestern art.It is divided into the "dark-backgrounds " painting representations of the ancient Greek and Roman periods,the late Middle Ages represented by the Netherlands,the prosperous period of the Renaissance,and the realism.In the third chapter,by analyzing the appearance of printed books and engraved images and the popular phenomenon of Merutin and copying prints,the relationship between the history of "dark-backgrounds" prints and the "dark background" paintings is iscussed.Through the above multi-dimensional analysis and thinking,in order to form a more comprehensive and novel understanding of the birth and development of"dark-colored" paintings,and promote individual creation.
