China has been attracting the world's attention for her profound cultural background and famous traditional tea culture. Having gone through all the vicissitudes of historical development, Chinese tea culture has formed unique cultural patterns, among which the dark tea of Hunan province occupies a decisive position in the tea culture. Therefore, tea culture translation plays an important role in the field of cultural transmission and promotion. This report is a translation practice report that introduces the local cultural characteristics of Hunan province. The original text is selected from Dark Tea with seven parts, mainly introducing the origin, development, producing areas, method of making and drinking as well as the relationship between tea and Chinese culture.Based on the author's translation practice, this translation report gives priority to analyzing the culture-loaded words, four-character phrases, long sentences and classic Chinese. To be more specific, literal translation and explanation are adopted to translating culture-loaded words, while reification and integration to four-character phrases. Besides, division and omission are used to translating long sentences, while inversion and combination to classic Chinese. The report shows that in order to translate the local unique culture, the translator should not only use various translation skills in a flexible manner, taking into account the historical and cultural backgrounds, but also focus on the accurate expression of the target language, retaining the style and charm of the source language.
