Under the influence of the globalization trend,English has become an international language and bridges the political,economic and cultural exchanges between countries.Reading is the fastest way to extract information,and it plays an important role in English teaching.This study is aimed at the problems and existing dilemmas in the teaching of English reading comprehension in junior high school,and summarizes the shortcomings of collaborative learning in reading teaching.Through the integrate advantage of Wiki technology,the wiki,collaborative learning.To explore whether Wiki based collaborative reading teaching model is more helpful than traditional reading teaching in improving students' English reading scores and improving students' reading attitude.This study designs the Wiki learning platform based on the software design and development model of Alessi and Trollip(2000),and uses the system method model of Dick and Carey(1996)to teach the wiki-based collaborative English reading learning activities.The experiment was carried out in a middle school in Sanming city,Fujian province.In this study,the quasi-experimental method was used to set up experimental and control classes.The experimental group and the control group started learning activities using different teaching modes.The student of the experimental class are studied on the Wiki learning platform in accordance with the activity steps of “personal task learning,group discussion,group task learning”,and the control class adopts the traditional teaching mode for reading activities.By comparing the reading scores and reading attitude of student using different teaching modes,the influence of wiki-based collaborative reading teaching method on students' learning effects is discussed.The study used quantitative and qualitative methods to collect data,including:English reading test(pre-test and post-test),course feedback questionnaire,reading attitude questionnaire(pre-test and post-test),students interview,teacher open questionnaire.According to the processing and analysis of the data,there was a significant difference between the reading scores of the experimental group and the control group.The improvement of reading performance of the experimental group was more obvious than that of the control group;the difference between the reading attitudescores of the experimental group and the control group was significant.The reading attitude improvement effect of the group students was more obvious than that of the control group.The following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Compared with the traditional teaching mode,the adoption of wiki-based collaborative reading teaching method is more conducive to the improvement of reading performance.(2)Compared with the traditional teaching mode,the adoption of wiki-based collaborative reading teaching method is more conducive to improving students' reading attitudes.Learners express the hope that they will continue to use the Wiki for collaborative reading and learning in the future.This study combines Wiki,collaborative learning and junior high school English reading teaching to form a teaching model of collaborative reading based on Wiki environment.Based on this model,it verifies the effectiveness of Wiki in junior high school English reading teaching and provides some reference value for the application of Wiki technology in English teaching.
