Research On Ji Kang Qin Music Aesthetics

Ji Kang,a famous musician and writer in the Three Kingdoms Period,his theories of qin music and aesthetic thoughts have great significances at that time and even today.This paper combs Ji Kang's qin music recorded in ancient books,grasps Ji Kang's practices of qin music,and makes further analyses of Ji Kang's theories of qin music.Ji Kang's theories of qin music is closely related to his life experiences and backgrounds.Ji Kang expounds and demonstrates his viewpoint of "sound without sorrow and music" from the perspective of the origin of sounds and emotions,and from the relationship between subject and object of sounds and emotions.There are not only its reasonable and desirable points,but also some historical limitations and one-sidedness.He also proposed that music can help people cultivate themselves and improve their aesthetic level.Ji Kang believes that although music itself does not contain emotions,it can arouse people's inner feelings through the forms of voice,so that the functions of health preservation and aesthetics can be realized.Ji Kang wrote "Qin Fu",with beautiful words to show a paradise,the trees growing here as the qin material,after excellent piano making technology,it becomes a perfect qin with good external image and internal quality.Ji Kang expressed his desires of pursuing freedom from the shackles of the world.He wanted to achieve the aesthetic ideal of "getting the way with the qin".In addition,Qin Fu also embodies the aesthetic thought very similar to “On Soundless Sorrow and Music”,it emphasizes human being is appreciative subject and it is important of human being's own mood when one accepts the music.Finally,we summarize Ji Kang's qin music thoughts and emphasize to respect the special law of developments of art itself,as well as the inner emotional experiences of people as the main body of aesthetics.
