Research On The Style And Method Of The General Seal In The Wei, Jin, Southern And Northern Dynasties

The general seal in the Wei,Jin,Northern and Southem Dynasties has a special status and value in the history of seals.Its unrestrained and unpretentious style is quite different from the neat,orderly,dignified and honest style of Chinese seal carving advocated by literati since the Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties.The general seal emphasizes the change of lines,the contrast of the knot words,and the aesthetic interest of the combination of virtuality and reality,which is exactly in line with the trend of the contemporary personalized freehand seal,and thus attracts people's attention and pursuit of copying.Starting with the artistic style of general seal in the Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties,this paper studies its artistic language and style characteristics,further sorts out the seal method,rules,lines,and analyzes the style orientation and artistic characteristics of general seal.Based on the author's seal cutting practice over the years,the second part of this paper,in accordance with the principle of combining theory with practice,emphatically expounds the authors practice and thinking of copying and creation by using general seal in recent years.
