The Enlightenment Of Studying The Wei,Jin,the Southern And Northern Dynasties’ General Seals To My Seal Carving Art Creation

Based on the Han seal style,the appearances of the general seal of Wei,Jin,the Southern and Northern Dynasties are various,which can be described as "one seal and one appearance".This text,the origin of the general seal is traced,in which the reasons and applications of the "popular form of characters" in the seals of the Southern and Northern Dynasties are explored from three aspects of the era background,the level of the engraving hand,and the characters assigned in line with the rules of the chapters.This paper deeply analyzes the line form,composition and other features of the general seal in the Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties through field trips and image contrast.Based on this,the writer also explores the rich changes of the lines on the general seal that made on the metal through imitating how ancient people engraving the seal with various tools.What’s more,the writer also puts his feelings into a huge number of copies and creative practices.Finally,the writer refers to the style of the general seal to create a poems of the Han,Wei and Six Dynasty theme seal cutting,which is a comprehensive attempt of the general’s seal on the text of an annotated book and seal style of characters on a seal carved in relief.In the later stage,the three-dimensional means such as seal production will be adopted to explore the diversified display of printing screen forms.The reference process,enlightenment and thinking of the author on the artistic style of general seal in the Wei,Jin,the Southern and Northern Dynasties are elaborated in this thesis.
