A Study On The Historical Destiny And Spiritual Outlook Of The Group Of Masters In "Zuo Zhuan"

During the Spring and Autumn period,the acute changes of society appear continuously,with the collision between various uncertain factors.The centralization rule of Zhou Dynasty was turning weak,due to the disintegration of patriarchal clan system and the faith of rites and music.This unique period brought many possibilities for the existing social system to reconstruction.Each country and the people had to choose their way for living and development.The princes belong to a special social group which is close to monarch as relatives.Also,they were born to be superiority not only in the social origin but also political status.However,with the effect of different factors in this disordered period,the destiny of princes are easily fall decline in Tso Chuan.In this thesis,philology,history and literature research technique are combined together to analyze the leading causes and reason of the tragic fate of princes in Tso Chuan more specifically.By deeply discussing the core concept and basic reason for the princes’ rough experiences,we can understand and comprehend this group of people and their spiritual world better.The thesis is divided into five parts.The exordium is a discussion on the topics and research status,the main contents and structures of the thesis.As well as a brief introduction of the research methods and the values of my research.The text has five chapters.The first chapter makes the definition of the study targeted,the princes recorded in Tso Chuan.Also,we focus on the interpretation of these nouns which are close to princes in order to make connection and distinction from each other.For example,the group of princes,the households of princes and the family of princes.The second chapter classifies the princes by country and sorts out their life stories.Thus showing their own characteristics and the same decline of tragic destiny.The third chapter discusses the two expressions of the princes’ fatal tragedy.Some of them were exiled to other countries as hostage,some fled their homeland because of political persecution.The forth chapter discusses the reasons of the princes’ tragic fate.The main three reasons are the change of the monarch’s mind,the oppress from the aristocracies,the fight for authority between princes themselves.The last chapter expounds the spirituality of the princes in Tso Chuan,by making a distinction between two extreme performances of their inner world.
