The study of second language learning strategies is an important part of the study of second language acquisition.With the promotion of "the Belt and Road" policy,more and more African students are coming to China to study Chinese.However,the current academic circles are not paying enough attention to the Chinese learning strategies of African students.Through the use of the improved SILL scale,this paper carries a macro survey and research on the Chinese learning strategies of African students studying in China.On this basis,the individual factors and Chinese learning strategies are analyzed correlatively,and the middle and senior level students and strategy choices are analyzed contrastively.The results show that:First,the frequency of Chinese learning strategies for African students studying in China from high to low is:metacognitive strategy,social strategy,cognitive strategy,compensation strategy,memory strategy,and emotional strategy.Except for memory strategies and emotional strategies,the other four strategies have been used at high frequencies.Second,age,Mandarin levels,motivations,and any other foreign language learning experiences have a significant impact on the choice of Chinese learning strategies for African students studying in China.Gender and mother tongue do not have a significant impact on the choice of Chinese learning strategies for African students studying in China.Third,in addition to the memory strategy,students at the advanced level use the other five strategies more frequently than students who at the intermediate level.Intermediate level students tend to choose simple mechanical strategies such as action substitution and encouragement hints,while advanced level students tend to choose complex communicative strategies such as language substitution and practical cognition.Advanced level African students pay more attention to the use of language than intermediate level students.Finally,on the basis of this conclusion,combined with the foreign learning strategy training mode theory,this paper constructs a Chinese learning strategy training mode for African students studying in China,including training preparation,training implementation,training tracking and training adjustment.From the perspective of the combination of explicit training and implicit training,the author puts forward specific training methods for the memory strategies,compensation strategies and emotional strategies of African students studying in China.
