A Study On The Evolution Of The Image Of Middle School Teachers In Campus Youth Films

Campus youth movies are mainly about students'growth stories,emotional experiences and campus life.The depiction of teacher-student relationship and teachers'roles in the movies directly affects the audience's perception of teachers'image.In daily campus life,teachers are not only educators,but also companions and witnesses in students'lives.Teachers' guidance and help directly affect students'growth.Therefore,campus youth movies cannot be separated from the shaping of teachers' image.Based on 38 mainland campus youth movies released since the reform and opening up,this paper codifies and classifies the gender,age,appearance,education background,morality and other indicators of the image of teachers in the movies.And sums up the evolution of the image of teachers in the campus youth movies after the reform and opening up in five aspects appearance,physiological image,knowledge image,moral image and personality image.The author puts the evolution of the image of the teacher in the film under the framework of the theory of artistic production,and examines the reasons for the change by connecting the external objective factors such as social background,educational environment,film industry and so on.In addition to external objective factors,the image of teachers in campus youth movies is also influenced by the director's subjectivity.On the one hand,the directors who born in different times have various experiences which will affect the creation of the image of teachers,on the other hand,different creative purposes and principles will also allow directors to inject some elements of imagination and fiction into the process of artistic creation.What needs to be noticed by film practitioners is that there are still some problems in presenting the image of teachers in campus youth movies,mainly the marginalization and over-entertainment of the image of teachers.In view of these circumstances,the creators of campus youth movies need to grasp the artistic truth,adhere to social responsibility,and construct the image of teachers more accurately and rationally,so that the artistic image of teachers in the movies can meet the requirements of the times and the expectations of the audience.
