| Since 2013,with the development of the Internet,a number of campus youth movies adapted from online novels have competed to shine on the big screen of cinema,attracting wide attention from the society and triggering heated discussions among the audiences.There exists the phenomenon that this kind of campus youth movies adapted from network novels generally always win high box office but gain low public praise.Based on the use and satisfaction theory,the thesis makes a thorough analysis of the use and satisfaction of the informed audiences of original network novels and adapted movies by applying questionnaire survey,in-depth interview and other methods.Data-based analyses of the network comments on the eight films help identify high frequency keywords and emotional speeches as well as construct their subordinate categories to figure out the whole picture of audience’s manners,thus summarize the reasons for their satisfaction and dissatisfaction.Eventually,more targeted suggestions are put forward for the cinematic adaptation of campus youth online novels.Through the analysis of survey data,it is found that the audiences’ motivation to consume campus youth movies adapted from online novels not only comes from the pursuit of cognitive consumption demand brought by the original novel text,but also the pursuit of emotional and immersive satisfaction brought by images in the process of emotional experience.In addition,in the in-depth interview with the interviewees,it is found that the informed audiences are in favor of the adaptation of the online novels into campus youth films and even re-adaptation in some appropriate degrees.And they also expect to witness the interaction between the adapted films and the original online novels.The main factors influencing the informed audience’s experience of watching movies include the creation of movie characters,the change of narrative space and the deletion of story lines.Finally,from the perspective of satisfying the needs of informed audiences,the author proposes to improve the audience’s actual emotional experience and the quality of film adaptation of campus youth online novels in the light of character image,narrative space,plot adaptation,publicity and distribution. |
