?Shun Pao?is one of the longest-established and most influential newspapers in the modern history of Shanghai.It is known as an "encyclopedia" for studying the modern and contemporary history of China.The record of music in?Shun Pao?is comprehensive,detailed and abundant.It is self-evident that it is of great importance to promote the study of the history of modern and contemporary Chinese music.Li Jinhui's performances of Li School Music and Mingyue Opera Club were welcomed by the public,and there was a demand for pop songs among the citizens.At the same time,In 1930,the film "Wild Grass and Leisurely Flowers",directed by Sun Yu,was released.With the wide spread of the film,its interlude "Wanli Seeking Brother Ci" became one of the favorite movie songs of audiences in the 1930s.It was also the first movie song in the history of Chinese film.Since then,a large number of film song creators have appeared in Shanghai.The proportion of pop songs in movies is also increasing,and a lot of news about audio movies is beginning to be published in?The Shun Pao?.1937 is the turning point of Shanghai's film.Shanghai has entered the period of"isolated island".Due to political interference,the film is more and more developing towards entertainment.More love films,song and dance films,detective films and so on are popular in Shanghai,which just makes pop songs have a hotbed of growth,and more and more films have been added.Popular songs,pop stars also "song and excellent film" into the film shooting,making pop music into a period of explosion after 1937,and even the film and pop songs gradually evolved into an inseparable relationship.This paper collects the historical records of movies and pop songs in?The Shun Pao?and studies the relationship between movie music and pop songs with the help of the timeliness of newspapers.
