Self-control is the ability of an individual to self-supervise,manage and regulate, according to the theory of energy resources, there are two types of trait self-control and state self-control.Among them, trait self-control is the ability of individuals to adjust their cognition and behavior. It is a stable personality trait, which develops with the growth of individuals and varies from person to person.State self-control,also known as ego-depletion,refers to the process in which an individual consumers energy resources during behavior regulation, resulting in a temporary decrease in self-control.Self-control is related to human life, and many behaviors of individuals need the participation of self-control.For example, when people are confronted with conflicts of ideas or conflicts of interests, they generally need to make correct moral judgments through comprehensive analysis. However, there are also special behaviors of moral hypocrisy. These problems depend on the individual's cognitive processing of moral dilemmas, and self-control plays an important role in this process.Existing research shows that the decline of self-control ability will reduce the tendency of individual prosocial behavior;and the probability of immoral behavior of individuals in ego-depletion state will increase significantly. In this study, moral hypocrisy and moral judgment are separated, two different types of self-control and two levels of moral hypocrisy are included in the scope of discussion, and the influences of self-control on moral hypocrisy and moral judgment are comprehensively investigated. In the first study, the influence of individual self-control on moral hypocrisy was studied by experimental method. The trait self-control ability was measured by self-control scale, and egodepletion was induced by "E—crossing" task. The moral hypocrisy of the subjects was investigated by observing their behavior choices in the task allocation experiment. The results show that the higher the individual's trait self-control ability, the less moral hypocrisy;while the individual in self-depletion state shows more moral hypocrisy. In the second study, the influence of individual self-control on moral judgment was studied by questionnaire. The trait self-control ability was measured by self-control scale, and egodepletion was induced by "E—crossing" task. The moral judgment of subjects was investigated by observing their scores in the moral judgment test. The results show that the higher the individual trait self-control ability, the higher the moral judgment level.Compared with the individuals without loss, the individuals with loss have lower moral judgment ability.Based on the above research results,it can be found that self-control has a significant impact on the individual's moral hypocrisy and moral judgment. Therefore,in our life,we should strengthen the ability of self-management and regulation, pursue higher self-development,and be a real moral person.
