Personality is an important factor affecting individual executive function, and the relationship between personality and executive function is the focus of attention of psychologists.Previous studies on the relationship between the Big Five personality and executive function have found that different personality traits and executive function have different relationships.Proactive personality is a kind of compound personality trait, which is different from Big Five personalities, and when explaining the individual's task performance. It has the incremental validity that Big Five personality does not possess. As a stable trait tendency,Rumination is closely related to the executive function of individuals.Furthermore, emotions also have an impact on the individual's executive function.Based on the differences of the executive functions among individuals with different proactive personality, this paper explored the effects of rumination and emotions acted on executive function among individuals with different proactive personality from both internal and external aspects,so as to provide more abundant empirical evidences for the corresponding theories. It mainly includes three studies:In study 1,in order to explore the difference of executive function among individuals with different proactive personality with the method of combination questionnaire and experiment. The Proactive personality questionnaire was used to selected the participants who were divided into the typical group and atypical group, and asked to complete the Stroop task,2-Back task and Digital switch task. The results showed that the task performance of typical group in the Stroop task and Digital switch task were superior to the atypical group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups in the 2-Back task.In study 2,to further clarified the effect of rumination on the executive function among individuals with different proactive personality.Completely randomized experimental design was adopted.Four distinct types of participants were selected by the Proactive personality questionnaire and Rumination response scale.Besides,Stroop effect in the Stroop task and Switch cost in the digital switch task were investigated. The performance of the typical group in Digital switch task and the atypical group's performance in Stroop task showed the same effects, which low rumination plays a facilitating role, while high rumination plays a hindrance role.In study 3,the aim was to explore the influence mechanism that positive emotions with different motivational intensity acted on the executive function among individuals with different proactive personality, and verified the applicability of the motivational dimensional model of emotions in the field of executive function. The Stroop effect in emotions-Stroop task and theSwitch cost in emotions-Digital switch task were examined among typical proactive personality participants and atypical proactive personality participants in mixed factorial design. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups under different emotional conditions in the emotions-Stroop task;while in the emotions-Digital switch task, the typical group participants has the best task performance in the condition of low motivation intensity, followed by the neutral condition, and the worst in high motivation intensity, but the task performance of the atypical group participants in the condition of high motivation intensity was better than the neutral condition.Based on the above three studies, the conclusions was made as follows:(1)There were differences in the executive function among individuals with different proactive personality, and the differences were different in different components of executive function.(2)The effect of rumination on inhibition control and cognitive flexibility among individuals with different proactive personality was inconsistent.(3)Motivational intensity of positive emotions has inconsistent effects on inhibition control and cognitive flexibility among individuals with different proactive personality.
