The tiger image was one of the decorative patterns on bronze wares during the shang and zhou dynasties.It had different forms,wide distribution and distinct regional features.It played an important role in animal patterns on bronze wares during the shang and zhou dynasties.Its emergence,development and evolution are of great significance for the inference of Bronze Age,the discussion of the thought of making vessels and the concept of sacrifice.This paper is mainly composed of the following six parts.The introduction mainly introduces the brief history and current situation of the research on the image of the tiger on bronze wares of shang and zhou dynasties.That is to say,the academic circle mainly focuses on the image of the tiger on bronze wares of the southern and northern grassland regions,but there is still a lack of relevant research on the image of the tiger in the central plains.It also defines the research object and clarifies the research ideas and methods.The first chapter is the discovery and arrangement of the bronze tiger in shang and zhou dynasties.The bronze tiger images of shang and zhou dynasties can be divided into three types:tiger decoration,tiger decoration and tiger pattern.Among them,the tiger decoration can be divided into seven types,the tiger pattern can be divided into two types,and the tiger pattern can be divided into three types.From the Yin ruins to the early western zhou dynasty,the number of tiger images on bronzes was large,accounting for about a quarter of the total.In the late western zhou dynasty,the number of tiger images accounted for a quarter of the total,and in the eastern zhou dynasty,the number of tiger images was about twice as much as in the early period.accounting for less than half of the total.According to the overall difference of the tiger image,it was divided into three stages and six stages,namely,the early stage of the first stage corresponds to the late shang dynasty,and the late stage corresponds to the early western zhou dynasty.The second period corresponds to the late western zhou dynasty.The early part of the third period corresponds to the early spring and autumn period,the middle part corresponds to the late spring and autumn period,and the late part corresponds to the warring states period.The main reason of development and evolution is the change of ideology and culture in different periods.In the second chapter,the combination of bronze tiger image decoration,position and decoration in shang and zhou dynasties in central China.There were more than 20 kinds of decorative articles of bronze tiger in shang and zhou dynasties,including wine articles,food articles,weapons,Musical Instruments,chariot and horse articles,etc.Shang and zhou bronze tiger images were mainly decorated with the body,cover,feet,neck,handle,dance,shoulder,abdomen and so on.Among them,the tiger is decorated in the circle foot and cover face more decoration.decoration position is relatively fixed.Tiger pattern is more decorated in the front of the middle,cover,aid ministry,decoration location is more diverse.Decorative patterns are more diverse,mainly with animal face patterns,yun-lei patterns combined to form bronze decorative patterns.Chapter three:the artistic features of the bronze tiger in the shang and zhou dynasties in central China.The tiger image mainly USES the techniques of circular carving and relief carving,and the layout features are first shown as symmetry,that is,the dignified and rigorous style of the tiger image decorated on bronze ware is closely related to the application of symmetrical composition.It is also expressed as space art,that is,the tiger image needs to cooperate perfectly with the decorative objects and positions,so that the viewers can see the complete decorative effect from all angles.Also used dynamic,exaggeration,contrast and other performance techniques,to show the different forms of the tiger image.The fourth chapter,the cultural connotation of bronze tiger image in shang and zhou dynasties in central China.The tiger figure decorated on the bronze ware is the spirit of wizard communicating with the god,because the tiger's mighty habit makes it a symbol of courage and power.The image of the tiger also represents the cultural identity.The tiger changes from a fierce animal in the nature to a totem of the tribe,and finally becomes a sacred animal in the new cultural system,showing the common identity of the ethnic groups.In addition,the witchcraft the,me represented by the pattern of "tiger cannibalism" should be associated with a certain witchcraft culture and play an important role in sacrificial activities.Chapter five,the regional characteristics of bronze tiger in shang and zhou dynasties.The image of the tiger in central China is different from that in northern China and southern China in terms of decorative tools,artistic features,cultural connotations,etc.In northern China,the tiger is mainly decorated in the form of a plate,which shows the life situation of fighting between animals and reflects the state of the jungle in nature.In southern China,wine vessels and weapons are the main forms of the tiger,and the tiger is regarded as the totem of the tribe.The reasons should be related to the differences of political and cultural backgrounds in different regions,so that the image of tiger has distinct regional characteristics.
